Menu Mark Two


Look familiar? It’s pretty similar to the menu from the demo last year, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I’ve done some polishing on it and changed it up a little, but the art is unchanged.

I’ll probably add a couple little tiles in the bottom right linking to the blog/twitter, and to our musician’s youtube page. I know, not the most enthralling business, but it needs to be done!

Today I’m doing more sound work and polishing the ending. Anything to put off finishing the save system for just a little bit longer. I’m avoiding that thing like the plague.

Today I spent three hours re-fixing a bug with room transitions that I thought I’d fixed months ago. HAVE I MENTIONED HOW MUCH I HATE DOORS?

In actually interesting news, Ascension is totally looking kind of good right now! The game is ‘technically’ complete, if we wanted to release it chock-full of bugs and unpolished bits. Also the ending sucks right now, but we’ll get to that. Apart from finishing up one animation, Tangleworm (our beautiful artist) is pretty much done all the work he’ll ever do on this game, ever. That’s kind of scary. A year and a half of our lives is about to wrap up. Someone hold me.

Our OST is coming along fantastic. I’ll continue to refrain from hinting any further to that until I have permission and reason to do so, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. It really ties the game together, and it makes me feel like I’m making something people are going to remember for more than a few minutes after they’ve played it. Maybe that’s wishful thinking.

I’m going to go mash on my laptop in a coffee shop for the rest of the night. You know, ’cause I’m professional. I want to fix some pesky lingering bugs and then tackle the giant list of tasks I’ve left for myself.
